This is easily the most powerful and complex audio app available. Sunvox provides a staggering potential for musical creativity - with modules capable of accomplishing pretty well any aspect of synthesis or composition. Once you get the basics down, it becomes a joy to use, and never-ending inspiration. Latest update is another huge leap in functionality. Astounding!

A user-friendly interface might have made this a useful synth. But I really dont have 40 years to figure this out. This is more of a brain-teaser than a tool to make music. This is even worse than the Peter Vogel CMI app, which is completely useless. The online help just multiplies the confusion. A few of the sounds it generates are interesting, but the microscopic keyboard make playing anything impossible. I suspect that the designers of this app are programming geeks, not musicians. Really this is more like a game than a synthesizer, only its not fun.

Ive used them all; those pesky DAWs, and at the end of the day, SunVox comes out tops. Its the ultimate tool for the mod-head wishing to make new tones, ground up - and blend them in to some really mind bending pattern aggregations. Forget your sad VSTs, come and invent something new you nutter! This is your daydream music laboratory, the be-all and end-all place for pure synthesis. The top names in experimental techno muck-about with this... And theyre not wrong - it really is worth learning (its not that hard) and sticking with. Best of all, I can start something on my phone, and continue it on my PC. I even have a version of SunVox running on a USB stick! Get with it if youre serious about electronic innovation, and start inventing in this champion app.

The interface is horrible. The workflow is unintuitive. Absolutely the worst music creation app Ive ever used. As for sound, it is average at best. Was not made by or for musicians. Complete waste of money and time.

And while it has a learning curve, Im having a blast with it.

I can honestly say that this app is what finally allowed me to figure out and understand synthesis and the deeper aspects of how to craft my own sounds. The people saying that this app is the most powerful music making app on iOS arent exaggerating. Nothing else compares in terms user controls and creative potential.

Deep, flexible, unique features and well supported by a responsive developer. If youre unsure, try the free Windows, OS X or Linux version. :) For new users, I think it might be helpful to keep in mind that you can create and load instruments and tracks youve made as modules within your other files. Feel free to play around and experiment, its not difficult to integrate that into other works as you go. It can be a slow burn, but once you build up momentum, I think sunvox is a fantastic casual app because it doesnt stop growing with you and you cant really run out of things to play with and try.

Super flexible ,sounds wonderful , must have !! The best thing is it keeps getting better . It does almost everything . The only two things I can think of . ( Im not even sure it does not do is 1 multi Timber midi 2 grain synthesis) It has everything else . Plus it has a comfortable user interface on an iPhone 5 . Awesome!

Its impressive what can be accomplished with this app thats under 11 MB. Compare that to other simple apps on your phone/tablet that are 50 MB or more. While this software is probably optimized for the desktop, it functions smoothly on my iPhone 6. It can feel a bit cramped at times but I know thats because of the device Im using. Even so, its simple to move around, link modules, etc. Well done, Dev! This tool that you created is truly remarkable and your attention to detail is greatly appreciated.

Sunvox is a excellent all workstation synth well worth the effort to learn it.

The new stuff is awesome.

The more time I spend with this program and get to know it the more I fall in love with it. There is a bit of a learning curve if you have never used a tracker like interface for sequencing, but once learned you can get a really fast workflow. Faster than a traditional DAW and with a precision and complexity you never thought possible. Cross platform!!! I have it on my IPhone, PC and Raspberry PI!

I get why gearheads and synth wonks love this. The features and potential of Sunvox are stunning, in theory. But the UX is so obnoxiously unfriendly that using it is a drag, even for experienced softsynth players. Some useful and coherent documentation would be a good start.
